Fight-and-Flight

from US$15.00

Two Ravens walk into your soul
One brings the light, the other the cloak
Both say they want to take the key
Both say the other one's a lie.

They croak and fight and fly inside
They're tangled up, but they won't stop
And in the whirlwind of their plight
The key still floats, right there, untouched.

Cause, see, some things cannot be claimed.
And you can't fight life into calm.
Two ravens flew into your soul.
You must remember, they came in.

The key? The key was always waiting there.

By now, you probably have a pretty good insight into how my brain works(?) Part of that insight is that I consider contrast and duality a massive part of what makes life interesting and a big component of forcing it to make sense.

If we didn't change, if we didn't have warring sides and opposing perspectives, growing would be hard(er), and living would, frankly, be quite dull. I incorporate those ideas into a lot of my work. Today's print is a clear example of that. Also, I've received several requests for a print with some Corvids in it, so... two birds, one... Print?

Anyway, today I bring you this fiery number. It's meant to represent the internal war between two sides, the opposing forces inside and around us, and how those sides are always tied, always apart, and eternally fighting in a constant war to claim meaning and reason.

Note: If you select the 18×24 inch print, regardless of the option you choose, I will ship it using the “Tracked, Super Awesome” service. The cheaper option isn’t suitable for tubes, so I've priced both the same in this case. However, I will still ship it using the faster, premium, insured, and tracked service.

Now, for the technical details...

As usual, these prints are lovingly crafted by me, printed on 320 gsm, cotton archival paper (that’s just a fancy way to say the paper is really awesome and warm and thick, with a lovely, velvety texture and creamy colour), using archival inks (this means this thing won’t fade in a hundred years. I’m serious. Treat it with a bit of care, and it will last a lifetime), using The Black Beast, my trusty 250 pounds beast of a Canon Printer.

tl;dr: the prints are really, really pretty, and the quality is top-notch. Just look at the pictures if you don’t believe me. And if you’ve bought a print from me before, you know what to expect.
