"As below, so above."
Is that a song?
A poem?
An old text from a forgotten god?
It does not matter, not really.
But listen:
Living inside, there's a creature with a perfect mark.
It clings to life and rides the light.
Under the Moon. Above the Sun.
And as earth becomes fire, and light, and memory,
it chooses a path.
It dreams of the Moon. Punches through the Sun.
It opens eyes that were not there to see things that always were.
Branch or light, poem or song, old god or old git, it does not matter.
Not really.
The cycle is there. The truth's the same.
As above, so below.

According to my six semesters in the "Old, Dead Languages and Assorted Gibberish" program at the prestigious San Marino University, Per Solis means "Above the Sun". When naming this piece, I figured, why lose all the money I spent attending college, right?

Moths are magnificent little beasts, and we have used them as symbols for many things. But a common theme across the board is that they encapsulate transformation and change.

Even though most of the time change means movement, I wanted to paint our fellow moth frozen in time. But not immobile. Cause we go through things as things (and time) go through us. It's just a matter of deciding how to deal with the moment we're in. In this case, raising fierily above the Sun. It's a trying time, this one we're living through. But most are, and it's up to us to decide what to do with them.

And by the way, if you’re more patient than fiery, this print has a sibling:Sub Luna that might be more your speed. Or, you can get The Moth Bundle, and have the best of both worlds.

Note: If you select the 18×24 inch print, regardless of the option you choose, I will ship it using the “Tracked, Super Awesome” service. The cheaper option isn’t suitable for tubes, so I've priced both the same in this case. However, I will still ship it using the faster, premium, insured, and tracked service.

Now, for the technical details...

As usual, these prints are lovingly crafted by me, printed on 320 gsm, cotton archival paper (that’s just a fancy way to say the paper is really awesome and warm and thick, with a lovely, velvety texture and creamy colour), using archival inks (this means this thing won’t fade in a hundred years. I’m serious. Treat it with a bit of care, and it will last a lifetime), using The Black Beast, my trusty 250 pounds beast of a Canon Printer.

tl;dr: the prints are really, really pretty, and the quality is top-notch. Just look at the pictures if you don’t believe me. And if you’ve bought a print from me before, you know what to expect.
